World History II(H) - D / F Blocks
Due Wednesday (F) / Thursday (D): Read pg. 1 and the first column of pg. 2 (stop after the phrase "ornanmental expression" from "The New Monarchy Thesis" and answer, to the best of your understanding, the following two questions:
1. What was the relationship between the Church and the State, as described on page 1?
2. What are some of the defining characteristics of "the State" after it's relationship with the Church ends?
Also, write down any words, phrases or ideas that are totally unfamiliar to you from this part of the reading.
If you are unable to find, or provide answers, for the two questions, please write down what you found difficult about the reading and what you were able to get from it.
