World History II (C1) - C Block

Due Monday:  Read 545 - 549 in your textbook (stop at "The Monarchy Returns") and answer "Reading Focus" 1-3 on page 545.  In addition, answer the question, "What kind of ruler was Oliver Cromwell?"

World History II (H) - D Block

Due Monday:  Read "Louis XIV, Arbitrary Despot" (pp. 97 - 104) in the packet and prepare for a 3-question oral quiz (3 students will be selected to answer a question about the reading - if all 3 are correct, the class gets 5/5 on a quiz; if one student is incorrect, everyone will have a chance to show their understanding of the packet with a written quiz; one "lifeline" will be provided for the class).  You should focus on what evidence is provided that shows that the evolution of the French monarchy, especially Louis XIV and his administration, were harmful to France and its development.

World History II (H) - F Block

Due Monday:  Read 18.3 in your textbook (545 - 550) and explain the evolution of the problems between English Kings and English Parliament in the 17th century.   Be sure to address why Parliament was so much stronger by the end of the century.
