Due Tuesday:  Read the hand-out "Two Views of Versailles" and answer the "Think Through History" question on the top of the front page.

World History II (H) - D Block

Due Tuesday - Answer the two questions from the textbook from Friday's hand-out.

Pages 484-487 and 535-538 in your textbook:


1. Compare and contrast the economic systems of "mercantilism" and "capitalism" as it is explained in the text.

2. Explain the strengths and weaknesses of Spanish rule in the 16th century (make sure to address the cultural growth that Spain experienced during the century).

Due Tuesday:  Read 18.2 in your textbook and explain how the reigns of Henry IV, Louis XIII and Louis XIV contributed to the development (both the strengthening and weakening) of absolute monarchy in France.
