• The state of the country during Jackson's  rise to prominence
• The defining contributions of Martin Van Buren, Francis Blair, Amos Kendall and Roger Tawney to the "Jacksonian" identity
• How Jackson was perceived by the populace (and historians)
• How Jackson led, and was led through, the destruction of the National Bank
• The role that "paper money" played in perceptions of the National Bank
