1) Explain the level of resistance put up by different African governments to European intervention. What contributed to the success or failure of the various resistance movements?
Read "A Response to Imperialism" and answer the following question:
2) How is this fable a reflection of Europe's entrance into Africa? Why should this fable be a warning for European imperialists?

For Tuesday: (A/B) - Read the excerpts from Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart and provide a brief summary of each chapter, explaining what it reveals about the imperialist effort on the village of Umuofia and/or the life / family of Okonkwo, a tribal leader.
