World History II(H) - A / B Blocks
Due Monday (we will discuss it in A Block on Wednesday): Read "War as Celebration: The Mood in European Capitals" and address the following questions:
1) Explain the general feeling people had towards the impending war in Europe in 1914. What did some feel could be gained from engaging in this war? What contributed to the feelings of joy that many people had? What negative feelings, if any, did people have? What were similarities and differences in the moods in the different capitals?
These questions can be addressed in an overall assessment of the readings and do not have to be taken individually. I would also like you to read 29.2 by Thursday / Friday so that we can discuss the start of the war in class on those days.
