World History II(H) - A / B Blocks
A Block: For Tuesday - read pp. 552-554 for context on the start of the Enlightenment. Pay attention to the goals of the Philosophes and the ideas of the leading philosophes. Read the selection from Jean Jacques Rousseau in your packet. In writing, explain how what he sees as important to the construction of a government; explain why the "general will" is all powerful and what the benefits are to citizens who would reside in a society based on Rousseau's ideas.
History Day note: Your topics are due on 10/14. Make sure you take some time to do a little background searching on your topic to make sure that there is enough available information. You make really like a topic, but if it is going to be difficult to track down the information, you may want to choose something else. Please take it seriously when I say that this is one of the most important deadlines of the project.
B Block: For tomorrow - Develop your own definition of "innovation" and provide at least one dictionary definition of the word. Also, develop a list of 7-10 "big idea" topics that you could possibly explore for a project on innovation in history.

US History - F Block
Complete the "Gettysburg Address" worksheet (on back of last night's homework). Do the best you can in putting the sentences of the Address into your own words. You can either write them in your own words or summarize what President Lincoln meant with each line.
