A Block - Read pp. 551-552 to get background on the ideas of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. Then, read your assigned thinker in the packet (Albanese, Eleana - Pedulla, Lauren have Thomas Hobbes "Leviathan"; Redwine, Jonathan - Yuen, Celia have John Locke "Second Treatise on Government"). You should come in with a written assessment of the kind of support your thinker uses to explain and justify the rights and responsibilities they see for government and its citizens.
