A Block - See "Today's Assignment - 10/5"
B Block (for Thursday) - read pp. 551-552 - "Two views on Government" to get a background on Hobbes and Locke's ideas. Read your assigned philosopher from the packet (Ahronian, Alyssa through McCarthy, Stephen read Thomas Hobbes; Nardone, Olivia through Wu, Matthew read John Locke). You should come in with notes on your assigned reading that you will pass in - you should focus on the main ideas of your thinker - what kind of government do they support and why?) Also, in writing, how could the philosophies of your assigned thinker be applied to European governments during the "Age of Absolutism" or in any other period. Both your notes and your answer to this question will be collected.
