World History II(H) - A / B Blocks
A Block - Unfortunately, after class I realized that I will not be in school for the first half of the day tomorrow. As a result, the quiz on 22.3, for which you should consider the way that Enlightenment ideas extended into European society and leadership, will be postponed until Thursday.
B Block: See "Today's Assignment - 10/16"
A/ B Blocks: Also, on Thursday during C Block, there will be a guest lecturer from Harvard University speaking on the issue of "Modern Slavery". All of you have been included on a list to be excused from your C period class to attend the lecture. If you cannot attend, please let me know by Wednesday. If you will be attending, you should report directly to the auditorium and look for my section during C block on Thursday. You should make sure to check in with your C Block teachers, as you will be accountable for any work that you miss.
American Studies - C / D Blocks
Due Wednesday: Read the 2 chapters on "Modern Slavery" and answer the following questions:
1) Explain how slavery "looks" in the world today - what is it, where is it, how prevalent is it? (Chapter 1)
2) To what extent is modern slavery similar and different to "old" slavery.
Think about the kinds of questions you might want to ask Professor Zoe Trodd (one of the authors of the book).
