Homework - 3/13

Due Tuesday:  Read pages 766-783 in the textbook (stop at "Over There"); we will have a written quiz.  You will need to explain how and why American neutrality was established between 1914 - 1916 and why that position eventually changed in 1917.  Also, after war was declared, what steps were taken by the US government to mobilize the population for war?  What was the make-up of the American soldier?  (Don't forget to read pages 778-779)
