Homework - 2/25

Due Thursday:  Read the excerpts from the "Atlanta Exposition Address" and the "Cross of Gold speech".  Be prepared to address:

• how Booker T. Washington addresses the ideas of how African-Americans can achieve success in America; consider the role that he sees for both white people and African-Americans in this path towards success
• how William Jennings Bryan contextualizes the great problems  of the age and the role that he sees for the Democratic party in that struggle

Also, remember that the test is from 1865-1898 and encompasses Chapters 17, 18 & 19 and pages 691-694 in Chapter 20.
