Due Friday:   Read "Reshaping American Life and Values"; prepare for a quiz by considering how each of the following influences the development of a new feminist ideal:

• educational opportunities
• work experiences
• involvement in abolition movement
• desire for political equality

Also consider whether or not you could say there was a unified woman's movement by 1861.

Note:  You can skim 89-92 - Those pages primarily are concerned with establishing the big ideas from the "Cult of Domesticity" article.  Also, don't get hung up on all of the names that are mentioned - they are all used as examples, but I am more concerned that you are familiar with how the above concepts contributed to the evolution of an early idea of feminism.
