For Monday - Read the Seneca Falls Declaration and pages 472-481 in the textbook. Bring in a list of seven examples of events, ideas, people that contributed to the division of the nation between 1848-1852 with at least one sentence, for each, as to how it contributed to divisions within the country. There will be a "one-question" quiz on the speeches on 476-477. You should know the primary arguments of each Senator. If the student gets it correct, you will all get a 3/3 quiz score. If it is incorrect, you will have a written quiz on all of the pages.
For Tuesday - Read 481-499 in the textbook. Be able to identify more examples of political, economic and social divisiveness in the country for a quiz. Pay particular attention to the Kansas-Nebraska Act & Bleeding Kansas, the Dred Scott Decision, the Lincoln-Douglas debates and the raid at Harper's Ferry.
