World History II (C1) - C Block

Due Tuesday:  Read the documents on pages 800-801 and answer questions 1-4 for those documents.

World History II (H) - D / F Blocks

For Wednesday:  Read "Turnips and Submarines" and prepare for a quiz.  Focus on the following:

• the effects of the war on Britain, France and Germany by the end of 1916
• the prospects for peace by the end of 1916
• the German military plans for 1917 - the reasons for them and the miscalculations associated with them
• the economic arguments for why the war shouldn't have lasted as long as it did and why it did last as long as it did

You should also read pages 790-792 & 795-796 for some background on Russia's and the United States' roles in the war by 1917.
