Due Tuesday: Read the packet on the "Boxer Rebellion" and "China the Yellow Peril: At War with the the World" and answer the following questions:
Boxer Rebellion (the narrator of this piece is Chinese):
- How does the narrator feel about the Atwaters?
- What are the interactions between the narrator and the soldiers - why is he so willing to give what he has?
- How might what happened in the village affect Chinese - Foreign relations?
- What do you think would be the strengths and weaknesses of the book that this introduction comes from? (think about what the book says it is going to do and where it gets it's information)

- read the section on the "Boxer Rebellion" in your textbook (p. 749) and be able to explain the arguments as to why the European powers did not just "partition" China after such a troublesome uprising
