Read 746 - 747 (stop at "The Taiping Rebellion") Answer the question at the top of the reading on 746; explain the effects of "The Opium War" on British - Chinese relations.
From the hand-out: Explain the overall tone of the Emperor's letter to the English King (both sides are different excerpts of the letter with some overlap), and list 5-7 examples from the reading where you noted the Emperor's tone.
