Read 27.3 and "Letter to Hasan Shirazi" and answer the following questions:
1. Explain the effects of economic imperialism on the Ottoman Empire and its territories (text)
2. Explain the arguments Sayyid Jamal ad-Din uses to encourage Shirazi to try to offset the influences of economic imperialism in Persia. Make sure to note how, and possibly why, he uses religion to make his point.
