Today's Assignment - 9/21

US History (C2) - A Block

For Thursday:
Provide a summary of the section "The Civil War" on page 288.  Write the 3 most imporant points and a 2-3 sentence summary of the section.

Work on the test review sheet - the sheet is due Friday.


World History II(H) - B / G Blocks

For Wednesday:  Read "Louis XIV - Builder of France" and focus on the following two questions:
1.  What did Louis do to change the role of "king" in Europe?
2.  How did Louis XIV help & hurt the French monarchy & government?

Just read that part of the packet for tomorrow and bring in ideas of what you think applies to the focus questions from that section, as well as any questions that developed to you from the reading or any sections you had difficulty with.  By Friday, you will turn in notes on both of the readings in the packet, based on the focus questions, but for Wednesday, you just have to read "Builder of France".

US History (C1) - E Block

For Thursday:  Read pages 184-189 (stop at "The War Changes the Nation"); Explain how the "tide turned" with regards to the war after 1863.  Use 5 events that occurred between 1863-1865 that show how the war was changing towards the Union side (don't include the surrender in your explanation); be sure to address how these events contributed to the changing of the war.
