For Tuesday (B) / Wednesday (A) - Read 808-810 and "Mass Suggestion" and "The Youth who are Hitler's Strength" and answer the following questions:

1)  How was Adolf Hitler able to rise to power in Germany and what did he do to solidify his role as leader once he became chancellor?

2)  In "Mass Suggestion" explain how Adolf Hitler was able to sway the crowd and how "reasonable" people seemed to take to his message.

3)  How was Adolf Hitler able to take advantage of the post-war lives of Germany's youth to mobilize them to support his Nazi program?

4)  Explain the educational emphasis for youth in Hitler's Germany, according to the reading.

Due Monday:  Complete the worksheet "The Failure of Containment" and answer the 2 questions at the end of the reading on "Why are we in Vietnam?";  also answer the 2 questions found at the end of each of the introductory paragraphs on both sides of the reading.  (This assignment was given in class yesterday)
